Lorenzo, a Bay-Area native is becoming a more and more valuable asset to the Washington Redskins due to his versatility on the field. He is known to be “the guy that comes out of nowhere” according to former coach Joe Gibbs. Originally undrafted, he has worked his way from practice squad to a player used at multiple positions in 2007.With a new head coach and coaching staff, 2008 will be full of opportunity for Lorenzo. He currently lives in Ashburn Virginia with his wife and daughter. As a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, Lorenzo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies within four years. While excelling academically, Lorenzo was a four year starter for the Golden Bears Football Team. Lorenzo's foundation for excellence was laid at ST. Mary's College High School in Berkeley. In the classroom he excelled and challenged himself by maintaining a 3.8 GPA, and athletically became one of the top recruits in the country. Lorenzo Alexander was born May 31st, 1983 at Oakland Naval Hospital to Stephanie Moore and Gerald Alexander. Reared by his mother and influenced greatly by his Uncle Steve, Lorenzo learned to respect others, work hard and always believe in himself. Lorenzo has always had a passion for his family, friends, and the community in which he grew up.


Donna Moore (Vice President): Donna, graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. Donna has 25 consecutive years of experience working with non-profits serving children and families with 15 years as a Program Director. Donna has experience facilitating support groups, staff trainings and community workshops. She is a native of Oakland, California.






Stephanie Moore (Administrative Assistant): Stephanie is a former business owner; directed a childcare program for 7 years. She is currently working with children and the elderly. Stephanie is the proud mother of Lorenzo Alexander. She is a Native of Oakland, California.








Akeem Brown (Planning Committee Chair): Akeem is the CEO and Founder of Dream Sports Management, a full service sports agency, representing professional athletes. Born and raised in Berkeley, CA by his parents Richard and Janice Brown, Akeem began his sports career at the age of 7. At age 11 Akeem underwent surgery to repair tendons in both of his legs, after surgery he was told that he would never be able to play ball again. Determined to fight against all odds Akeem found peace on the football field. While attending Berkeley High School, Akeem received Academic Honors 4 consecutive years maintaining a 3.5 G.P.A. He was awarded the Academic Excellence Award from Berkeley Mayor, Shirley Dean. Akeem was a 4 year starter for the Berkeley High, “Yellow Jackets”; and received several scholarship offers from major universities. He chose Humboldt State University, where he excelled in the classroom making the Dean’s list four consecutive semesters and all GNAC honors on the field. Akeem’s personal belief is that the mind is the most powerful tool in the universe and if you believe in yourself and your dreams, you can conquer anything.


Omar Young (Program Committee Chair): Omar is a 24-year-old Oakland, California or CA. native. He received his Bachelors Degree in History from Savannah State University. He is currently working towards his Masters Degree in Sport Management at the University of San Francisco. Omar was a participant in many after- school and summer programs which contributed to his growth as a person. He has experience working with youth as a high school football coach, summer program counselor, and tutor. He is very passionate about sports and believes that sports teach life lessons such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, and accountability.


Doris Mangrum (Treasurer): Doris has worked in social services and child development for over 25 years. Through her work, she has advocated for families and children providing supportive services to keep them intact. She also works with incarcerated parents, their
children and extended families to ease the tension caused by the separation. For the past 17 years, her work in teaching parenting skills and facilitating enhanced jail visitation for the children has been rewarding for all involved. In her role as Community Relations Manager for a non-profit organization she garners assistance and visibility by connecting the needs of the agency to the resources of the community.
